SPELLING TUTORIAL AND TEST Progam # 1
In each of the following exercises you will be given a sentence
and asked to decide whether there is a misspelled word or
whether the sentence is correct. If there is a misspelled word,
type its correct spelling + {ENTER}; if the sentence is correct;
just type {ENTER}. If the sentence does have an error and your
first answer is wrong, the sentence will be repeated with the
location of the misspelling <high>lighted. If you make an error
as you are typing in an answer, use the backspace key ({}) to
erase the previous letter, or the {Esc} key to erase the whole
word.
{BE SURE CAPS LOCK KEY IS OFF}--case of input letters is important.
# PAUSE
You may choose one of three modes in running this program:
* In the {TUTORIAL} mode, each set of questions is preceded by
an explanatory section that briefly outlines the rules
governing the spelling questions in that set. Following these
rules and one or more examples, you will be asked the
questions in that set. You will be able to review the current
rule as you go along.
* In the {TEST} mode, you will not be shown any explanations.
Instead, you will just be given questions drawn randomly from
the various tutorial sections. Your score will appear at the
conclusion of the test.
* The {EXTRA TEST} is a series of questions not in the tutorial.
Otherwise it is just like the {TEST} mode.
# PAUSE
Unless you are confident in your knowledge of the spelling
rules, a good way of proceeding with the program would be to try
the Tutorial mode once, and then repeat with the test modes to
confirm your knowledge.
